Hospice care at Morningside Ministries provides a holistic approach to end-of-life care, and is intended to improve the quality of a patient's last days by offering comfort and dignity. Hospice is available to individuals who are in need of treatment for the reduction of physical and emotional symptoms which have become unmanageable.

 

VITAS Innovative Hospice Care® helps patients during the last months of life, and their families – providing physical, emotional and spiritual support to people with life-limiting illnesses. VITAS brings hospice care right to the home, as well as to long term care and assisted living communities. When necessary, our hospice teams offer Intensive Comfort Care® for up to 24 hours.

When symptoms cannot be managed at home, patients are cared for in in-patient hospice units, like the one at Morningside Manor, until they can return to their home. In this home away from home, 15 private suites invite family to visit at any time and stay as long as they wish. The kitchen is open for impromptu snacks. There are areas for reading, for consultation, for children's play. There is a beautiful patio and a sunroom to bring the outdoors in.
