Dear Residents, Family Members, and Friends of Morningside Ministries,

We would like to extend our gratitude to each of you as we continue to work through the challenges brought on by COVID-19. As of today, we are reporting no new positive COVID-19 cases at either The Meadows or Menger Springs communities. However, as part of our ongoing effort to combat this virus and per state requirements, weekly/monthly COVID-19 testing for Skilled Nursing staff continues to be provided.

As you may have noticed, the COVID-19 positivity rate in the San Antonio area has ticked up for the second week in a row – which means the virus is still spreading within our community. We urge you to continue to take every precaution possible, we are still living through a pandemic and are not out of the woods yet. Please remember that people with COVID-19 can have a wide range of symptoms – from mild to severe – and symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. It is important that we all monitor ourselves and our loved ones for symptoms to help prevent the spread. If you feel ill, err on the side of caution and stay home if possible.

Our communities continue to work diligently within the Texas Health & Human Services’ visitation guidelines for senior living facilities, to ensure the best chances for you to see your loved ones. However, please know rules and regulations are subject to change as the situation continues to evolve. Current visitation opportunities are as follows:

  • The Menger Springs community is hosting visitations at all levels of living. Please continue to follow the guidelines provided to you by the Executive Director.
  • Loved ones of residents at The Meadows Assisted Living facility, please continue to follow guidelines mailed to you via USPS. To schedule a visit with your loved one, please email: MeadowsVisitations@mmliving.org or call (210) 731-1204.
  • Last week’s positive case at The Meadows Nursing facility eliminates the possibility of conducting visitations at this time, with the exception of designated Essential Caregivers.

Morningside remains committed to transparency surrounding COVID-19 at our communities, while also respecting the privacy of those involved. We will continue to provide you with weekly updates on our efforts surrounding COVID-19. Thank you again for your patience and continued support while we navigate through this unprecedented situation. Should you have any questions, please contact your respective administrator.

Sincerely,

Morningside Ministries Staff
