Morningside Ministries' COVID-19 Update: November 12, 2020

November 12, 2020

Dear Residents, Family Members, and Friends of Morningside Ministries,

As of today, we are reporting one Home Health office staff member who has tested positive for COVID-19. No other staff, residents or patients were exposed to this individual. However, as part of our ongoing effort to combat this virus and per state requirements, weekly/monthly COVID-19 testing for Skilled Nursing staff continues to be provided.

The COVID-19 positivity rate in the San Antonio area continues to rise – which means the virus is still spreading within our community. We urge you to continue to take every precaution possible, we are still living through a pandemic and are not out of the woods just yet. Please remember that people with COVID-19 can have a wide range of symptoms – from mild to severe – and symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. It is important that we monitor ourselves and our loved ones for symptoms to help prevent the spread. If you feel ill, err on the side of caution and stay home if possible.

Our communities continue to work diligently within the Texas Health & Human Services’ visitation guidelines for senior living facilities, to ensure the best chances for you to see your loved ones. However, please know rules and regulations are subject to change as the situation continues to evolve. Current visitation opportunities are as follows:

  • The Menger Springs community is hosting visitations at all levels of living. Please continue to follow the guidelines provided to you by the Executive Director.

  • The Meadows community is now hosting visitations at all levels of living. Please follow the respective guidelines for your loved ones’ level of living. For questions or to schedule a visit, please email: MeadowsVisitations@mmliving.org or call (210) 731-1204.

Morningside remains committed to transparency surrounding COVID-19 at our communities, while also respecting the privacy of those involved. We will continue to provide you with weekly updates on our efforts surrounding COVID-19. As always, thank you for your patience and continued support while we navigate through this challenging situation. Should you have any questions, please contact your respective administrator.

Sincerely,

Morningside Ministries Staff
