A History of Compassionate Senior Care in Texas

aboutus-ahistoryThe origin of Morningside Ministries dates back to the mid-1950s with a resolution by the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church on May 27, 1957 to create a board of managers for the establishment, maintenance, operation and management of homes for the elderly. The San Antonio Board included 30 members, 12 of whom were ministers, and began searching for land and developing plans for a home and a hospital in the area. The hospital was later developed as Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital, and the home, Morningside Manor.
Today, Morningside Ministries offers comfortable senior living at The Manor, The Meadows, Chandler Estate and Menger Springs. These locations span from the heart of San Antonio to the rolling Texas Hill Country in Boerne.

In considering residents for admission, Morningside Ministries does not discriminate on the basis of Race, Religion, or Ethnic background.
