When you volunteer your time with an organization that cares so deeply for its members as Morningside Ministries cares for its residents, you’ll not only feel fulfilled in the work, but you’ll be making a tangible difference in the lives of the people around you. Fostering an environment of support and compassion is what makes Morningside Ministries unique and our volunteers are a huge part of our success in that.
Morningside currently has three unique Volunteer Programs that you can get involved with. After reading the descriptions below, please select your most desired volunteer opportunity for next steps to become a Morningside volunteer!
Morningside Ministries General Volunteer
As a general Morningside Ministries volunteer, you’ll be able to support our Life Enrichment staff at both our San Antonio and Boerne communities with activities and special events. Volunteer opportunities include general activities assistant to assist with our Music and Memory Program, worship services assistant, musical entertainer, guest speaker/presenter, one-on-one visitor, and more.”
The Auxiliary of Morningside Ministries
Through the Auxiliary of Morningside Ministries, a long-standing Morningside volunteer group, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our residents by assisting with activities such as table games, exercise classes, arts and crafts, in-room visits, assisting with parties, and more. The Auxiliary membership doesn’t require a fee to join, nor does it require a minimum amount of volunteer hours per week. To receive more information, please fill out the form below and indicate in the message portion of the form which program you are interested in.
The Person-to-Person program allows individuals to visit Morningside’s Assisted Living and/or Nursing residents at least one hour per week to share life stories and make heartfelt connections. This opportunity is available through our trusted partner, San Antonio Oasis. Click Person-to-Person to learn more.
Due to the nature of our volunteer opportunities and our application process, we kindly ask that our volunteers make a commitment to serve on an ongoing basis, at least 5 hours each month. Individuals ages 13 and older interested in volunteering at Morningside must complete a volunteer packet and undergo a background check prior to receiving an assignment; minors ages 13-17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian when volunteering at our communities. Opportunities for volunteer groups are also available.
